In 1924, Tom Castro Sr. (shown below) operated out of a single box truck delivering fresh fruits and vegetables to restaurants and local grocers in Melrose Park. 100 years later, we continue the same tradition. Utilizing our brand new state-of-the-art warehouse and fleet of temperature controlled vehicles, we now proudly service the state of Illinois and Northwest Indiana with produce, dairy, meat and poultry, dry goods, and paper products.

T. Castro now boasts 5 generations in the produce business. We remain a family owned business conducting our operations with the honesty and integrity that comes from having our family name attached to everything we do.

For the past 30 years, T. Castro has been a business owned by persons with disabilities. Owner Tom Prinske, and former owner Tom Castro Jr, are individuals with disabilities who became instrumental in the State of Illinois' groundbreaking legislation classifying individuals with disabilities into governmental usage and set aside programs.
